JPs Software - Color adjust

upWWW-Seite in Deutsch

This is a little collection of video-plugins for Pinnacles software Studio 9 (and 10). It is an early beta-release of the plugins, so use them at your own risc. Feel free to send feedback and comments. The plugin was tested under Windows XP with Studio 9.4 - but most of the effects should also run under Studio 10. Programming these video-effects is an hobby of mine, so the plugin can be used freely as defined by the Gnu Public License (version 2 or later, see file COPYING).

Attention: if you encounter watermarks from Pinnacle when using my plugins, just update to the latest version of JPsEffects!

Documentation

This effect can be used for some advanced color adjustments. You can perform color adjustments (linear and gamma correction) for each color channel (red, green, and blue) seperately. Additionally, the brightness, contrast and color intensity can be adjusted.

First the linear adjustment for each channel takes place. Afterwards the brightnes, contrast, and intensity adjustments are performed. The gamma correction is performed last. This way it is possible to create a monochrome video that has a diffrent base color than gray.

Parameter
  • Color red: Linear adjustment of the red color channel. Using values above 100 (%) leads to a picture with more red. Note that since the overall brightnes is keept constant, that "less red" eaquals "more cyan".
  • Color green: Linear adjustment of the green channel. "Less green" equals "more magenta".
  • Color blue: Linear adjustment of the blue channel. "Less blue" equals "more yellow".
  • Brightness: Linear adjustment of the overall brightness.
  • Contrast: Adjustment of the contrast.
  • Color intensity: Adjustment of the color intensity. An intensity of 0 eqals a monochrome picture.
  • Gamma red: Gamma correction of the red channel. This correction doesn't change the black and white colors, but mainly changes the medium colors (see examples). Caution: using a gamma value not equal to 1.0 takes significantly more time to render the effect. Maybe I'll accelerate this some day...
  • Gamma green: Gamma correction of the green channel.
  • Gamma blue: Gamma correction of the blue channel.
